One of the Most Successful Ways to Teach

Why is it that we can not remember certain details from yesterday, yet we can remember songs we learned as a child?

If you are like me, when the main lesson of the sermon is reinforced in a song or action, I continue to remember it throughout the day. It is no different with children. At home or as we have traveled, we continually observe songs, music and activities that reinforce the lesson we want our children to learn. This is nothing new.

Why do advertisers work so hard to connect their products with a jingle or a motion? They, as well as educators, have found that kinesthetic learning is one of the most successful ways to teach. Let's continue to do all we can in Christian education to bring God's Word to life by combining music with creative learning activities.
